there are few threads here for tips in taking NLE especially the BON has changed already. I recommend reading FUNDAMENTALS, RESEARCH, CANCER (specialty of one BON member), IMCI. FOcus on PRIORITIZATION.

it's just the same review materials, just focus on the basics, skills, research, some med-surg, imci...

well I guess almost everything has been said here.... Except.... Pray to Him....

have a firm determination and stick to your schedule.

same materials. i agree, CA had beaten the sanity out of me when i took the june 2007 licensure exam. Although a lot had been saying they'll focus more on IMCI, we only found 2-3 questions pertaining to it last june board. but who knows, things can change...might as well plan your schedule properly, give more time in topics/ areas you are not so good in; do not schedule one area per day, , if you shift from med-surg into CHN the next day, the tendency is that you'll easily forget what you've had on the previous day. i suggest finishing one area in a scheduled period, after shifting to another ...And also, be wary of topics/subjects that most examinees tend to take for granted, like CHN and Research. we couldn't guess what they might give next time, so just don't take it too seriously. Chill if you need to, and always pray to Him. Goodluck!

hi. i agree, same references still. i took the june 2007 licensure exam, and i can tell CA really had beaten the sanity out of me. Got myself crying at the end of the first day, because i never expected a lot and i mean a LOT would come out regarding CA. Although rumors were spreading that they'll focus on IMCI, I've only seen 2-4 questions pertaining to it. But we can never tell, which one they'll focus on next time. i suggest allowing more review schedule on weak areas, and refrain from day-to-day shifting of areas to study...going to CHN when you haven't finished the concepts of Med-Surg yet, can be very frustrating, . Plus, pay attention to subject areas which most examinees tend to neglect--that is Research, CHN and the likes. we can't be too sure what's it gonna be next time, so let me just say...don't take it too seriously, chill if you need to, and always pray and ask for His grace and guidance. Not everything will work for everyone... And i say, do what you think will work best for you.

Never forget the basics. Have a review of IMCI and your Nursing Research as well. You may also want to answer the end of chapter questions in Med Surg by Udan...I looked up some of the ques. when I got home and I was surprised to see that some of them were lifted up from the textbook

God bless

Just some correction, I counted the items on IMCI, there were 10 items (no. 90-100 of NP X). Too bad I didn't took the time of reviewing it. I just used some test taking strategies, I don't know if I got it right. Anyways, I passed. Review them, last Dec., my bro got almost same amount of questions on IMCI.

I highly recommend reading about cancers and prioritization. 98% of the questions need NOT some memorization, just strategies and good foundation in nursing. READ THE BASICS!

I think prayer is the best and mild anxiety/excitement helps. :0)

hahaha, yeah w_padre, thanks for correcting me about the IMCI items, it's just that I never really gave much attention to them,.and yeah, test taking strategies do help...we were taught the POWER OF ELIMINATION. i forgot to mention that earlier..aside from PRIORITIZATION of course. Remember it's always easier to look for 3 wrong answers than 1 correct answer.Ciao!
