Greetings. My name is Michael. I have been a registered nurse since 2012. I first worked in pediatrics (2012-end of 2013) and I have been doing NICU since December 2013. I have worked in California my whole nursing career but I am originally from Queens, NY. I recently became certified (RNC-NIC) in December 2015. And in August 2016, I will be graduating with my MSN with a concentration in nursing education.
My Dad has had some health troubles, necessitating open heart surgery and being put on the kidney transplant list as he was born with 1 kidney and glomerulonephritis. He has been on dialysis since March 2015. I want to be closer to my family so I will be moving back to New York in August 2016.
Would anyone be able to shed some light and information on the NICUs in Manhattan? I have begun applying. I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

I know nothing about NY, but I am sorry you are going through this!
I hope your dad is able to get a new kidney and recover!

Hey!
I am not so sure about all of Manhattan but I used to work in the Bellevue NICU. It was kind of crazy but i heard their staffing got a lot better in the last couple of months and that they are hiring a lot of people. It is a city hospital so I don't think the pay is that great. I currently work at Montefiore. We have been hiring a lot of travel nurses recently as well to cover our staffing for when we GO Live! for EPIC. That is something you might want to consider (travel/agency/per diem) nursing so you can check a few places out before you start full-time of just to get your foot in the door. There are a lot of agencies with really good pay out there (not as great as california pay but still) lol Or at least thats what I hear! I hope you get through this tough time! Good luck
