NICU Nursing Positions in Nashville?

Published

Hey everyone, I am in the middle between new grad and hitting my year mark of experience (sept marks the year). I have my BSN and currently work in a university hospital that is the regional referral center and we take all the high risk OB patients. Its a 30 bed unit (total we can hold is 60-65 patients including mom and baby) which combines nursery and postpartum, my typical patient load is between 4-6 couplets or 8-12 patients. We are a well baby nursery but typically take on a lot of infants who would typically be seen in the NICU in a smaller hospital, infants born around 35 weeks, infants with blood sugar issues, mild respiratory distress, and drug withdrawals are the typical infants seen on my unit. I've always wanted to be a NICU nurse and took my current position as a way to get my foot in the door in the maternal/child field. Does anyone on here work in a NICU in the Nashville area that would be able to share me with me some tips for applying. I've seen openings at The Nashville Children's Hospital (formally centennial women and children's) and Vandy. I have my NRP certification and will have my STABLE certification in July, I currently don't have a TN license, my license is from NM but it's a multi-state compact so it is valid in TN and I have been working under that license. I did my senior internship in a level 3 NICU. Any help, tips, leads, ideas anything will be greatly appreciated!! Thank y'all in advance!
