Removing UAC's/UVC's

Just wondering what you're technique is when removing UAC's/UVC's. I was originally taught to leave the fluids running while you are removing the lines and to turn off the fluids right before the line is almost out. Of course the lines are pulled out slowly (over a few minutes or so). Do you leave the fluids running or do you turn them off just before removing the line.

Thanks!

We clamp a line, say 15 minutes before we d/c it. So, yes, we turn off the fluids.

We clamp the line about 15 min before getting ready to d/c it, pull it back to 4cm, let it sit for 20 min, then pull all the way out while applying pressure til the bleeding stops.

We leave the fluids running until right before they pull it....less chance of a clot forming on the end and breaking off.
