Do many of you have parents whose babies have died come to NICU reunions?

I received an invitation to a 2 year reunion party for all the babies born in 2002. I was upset that I received the invite since Blake died and I probably will not go, but I was just curious as to what bereaved parents do at other hospitals.

We typically had separate reunions. One of the facilities that I worked at had a very active RTS program and each December we would have an angel tree ceremony. We would invite all of the families that lost little ones and have a memorial service to commemorate the lives of their little one.

We also have the RTS program. Ours keeps in contact with the families that have lost an infant up to the 2 year anniversary. Of the parents that i have talked to, They like the opportunity to get together with others that are going through what they have.

We have some who do and some who don't. Some of the bereaved parents were in there for a long time and made friends with other parents, so they go to see those parents more than anything. If you were upset, I would suggest sending a letter to the hospital asking them to take you off the mailing list. I am sure they don't want to upset you.
