NHSC facilities in St. Louis?

Published

Hello

I am in the beginning process of looking into some nursing programs around St. Louis. I may be interested in the NHSC program to help pay for school. Does anyone know if there are NHSC approved facilities in the St. Louis area? Has anyone gone through the program?

thanks

First thing's first. The site you mentioned to explore nursing programs is a one way ticket to confusionville. Really just advertising.

Go to (collegescorecard.ed.gov) and review schools you may like. Be sure to zero in on tuition, graduation rates and cohort retention. This site has none of the hard sell.

These parameters will give you a solid idea as to any school's intentions to bring students along with their best interests at heart. In other words, are they there to produce graduates or just sell expensive loans and run through students with open admissions like flux through a goose. CCs are not to be included in this group as their purpose is to allow students to get their academic feet wet at bargain store prices.

As far as *NHSC is concerned the questions you ask and the answers to them are best found by letting your fingers do the walking by giving them a call.

Remember it's the Federal Government and their whole purpose is to confound and befuddle you.

*People in this program are very secretive about it but just think of it as your first lession in nursing colleagiality also known as Weaseology 101.
