mommyof2grls--

Thanks for the good luck wishes. Also good luck to you and all the others interviewing. I am getting nervous. I think I'm prepared but you never can tell. I will update on sunday night.

I'm excited for you all! Good luck to everyone and let us know how it goes.

Good luck to all of you on your interviews. Some of the best advice I heard in preparing for your interviews was to relax and be yourself and tell the truth. If you do not know the answer to the questions tell them so. Do not try to BS them, you will be found out fast. You can not expect to know too much about anesthesia, that is what you are coming to them for. And even as ICU nurses you can not be an expert in all ICU's. As for reasons you want to be a CRNA. By now with all of the years of preparation I am sure you all have great answers to that question. It will all work out for the best. I want to attend a school who wants me for what I am. Not for what I pretended to be during an interview. Granted I do want to go to CRNA school. But I really want to go where I will be happy and thrive. You all owe this to yourselves as well. You are all in my prayers and I am pulling for you this weekend. I will be looking forward to hearing from you Sunday night. I have an interview at UAB next Tuesday. I also have one at Gooding on February 11 and at Samford February 13. My last one will be at MCG on February 19th or 20th. Even though I have been accepted I am still a ball of nerves trying to get through all these interviews. Can you imagine if CRNA school is this intense! Again good luck with those interviews.

Hey trauma tom!! Thanks for the cheering section!! I am interviewing at Gooding and MCG too. Maybe we will meet up at one!! The interview at Newman was my first, and I was very nervous. I thought I did o.k., but I walked out not having a clue as to how it went from their perspective. They are good at not letting on!!! Boy, you can hang your ownself in an interview, huh?! Overall, I am just pleased I did not feel like an idiot leaving the interview. It is hard to function with 6 people looking at your file and writing down scores for you!! But, they were nice and stood up to greet you as you came in and when you left. Overall, it was a good experience from a first interview perspective and a learning experience in this whole process to becoming a CRNA. :imbar

The interview at Newman was very relaxed, and all were very friendly. In retrospect, I do not think the interview was very difficult, and they seemed to understand our situations. (While sitting there it was the worst!!!) However, I do have to say, I am apalled at my lask of interpretation and response to the clinical portion of the interview.

For some reason I could not relay my thoughts very well, atleast those that I actually had, and feel my overall performance was dismal at best. I felt I did nail my ethical and personal questions very well, but did not re enforce my clinical skill nearly as well as I could have.

It was a great experience from which I have learned a lot, and will just have to be banging down the door again next year.

A sincere "Good Luck" to the rest of you as it looks like you did much better than I.

:roll

I felt like I nailed most of the clinical questions until I headed for home and decided I misunderstood one of the questions. I thought I was asked about blood flow to the brain and now I think I was really asked about CPP...lol. Big mistake.

Anyway, I thought on the most part I handled clinical qustions ok. But, I rambled on the"tell us about yourself and why you want to be a CRNA". Overall I feel I kinda blew it on the personal questions. I am sure they will take into account nerves. I am willing to bet there was not one person who went in and was not nervous.

mommyof2grls I am sure you did better than you think. We are all always our own toughest critics. Hang in there and good luck.

Just checking to see if anyone has heard from Newman.

Just did! no go... I really thought I had a good interview... Actually I really enjoyed it a lot! The letter did not site any specifics. I do know that they would like to have seen me having taken some grad level classes. Everyone, let me know how you come out!

Are you interviewing anywhere else? Hang in there-you will get in to a program!!!!! I do not think I got in either, but I will keep trying!!:)
