newly registered RN seeking available hospital's where I can atttain my 2010 GNP

Published

Hi I'm a newly graduate Div. 1 Vic. & SA. registered. However, I was unsuccesful attaining a a graduate program for next year. I have 5 yrs experience working as Div. 2 and ongoing. I desperately needed to obtain my GNP next year for me to experience and learn transition in my nursing roles and be able to achieve professional growth. Any mid year GNP position available would be so much appreciated.

I also need to know can you be both registered as Div. 1 and Div 2? I just received my renewal form for next year and received both renewal forms. I may be out of job for awhile next year and keeping my Div. 2 registration for another year will be be handy.

Please Help.

Regarding your question whether or not you can keep both registrations: my understanding is that no, you cannot hold registration for both. However, it would be in your best interests to contact the nurses board in the states you currently hold registeration and ask them.

As for where you can do your GNP: again I would suggest you contact the nurses board and ask if they have a list of hospitals offering the GNP for 2010. Another suggestion is to personally contact various hospitals in different states and enquire if they run the GNP and if there's any opportunity for you to apply.

Also ... would the university you did your degree at be able to direct you? Perhaps they know which hospitals run a GNP for 2010 and help support you in the process of application.

Wishing you all the best!

Thank you! I appreciate your advice. I will get this clarified to me by NBV. I'm hoping that I have this sorted out soon. I'll keep posted. Thanks again

hi,

have you had a look at the victorian nurse computer matching website?

http://computermatching.pmcv.com.au

a month or so ago they had a list of all the unmatched positions available after computer match results were released. i cant seem to find it on their site now unfortunately. maybe worth contacting them and asking if they can email you a copy. the bottom line is probably that private hospitals are the ones to contact first as they aren't as popular for grad years as the public system.

good luck.

Please check here, available in some private sector.
