Newly qualified Childrens Nurse

World International

Hi, I was wondering if any one has got any info that could help me. I'm about to qualify as a Childrens Nurse here in the UK, but i have no idea where to start to look to help me move over to Canada, im hoping Alberta.

I really dont want to stay here in the UK anymore, and want out asap. Though im thinking my lack of experience is going to hold me back. Does anyone know of any agenecies or hospitals that would take a new graduate on. I have been reading that its hard to get a job being just a childrens nurse, but in the UK we have stopped training as general nurses and have to specialise, so God knows what im going to do!

Any help or info would really be helpful, Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the site

I would say apply to the province you want to live in and if you are short of any hours they will let you know. It may mean you need to make some hours up before they will give you the go ahead to sit CRNE, if that is the case check out the UK forum as there is a sticky giving info on 1-2 universities that now run courses enabling you to make up hours. You may have managed to meet requirements if you did some study in the foundation part of your training

Good luck
