Newly LPN grad, frustrated

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I graduated last month and got my LPN license too. I don't have any experience working in a nursing home , I only have clinical experience. I'm in Connecticut and I can not find any work , I submitted tons of application and no call back :(. I don't know what to do now. I was planning to apply a reciprocity in NY but I don't know how. Aw, honey don't give up. When I became a licensed as a LPN I got up every day and applied at every nursing home in my area. After two weeks of doing this I got hired. As a LPN I found it easier to land a job. Most nursing homes hire LPNs and required applications to be done in person. This gave me the chance to speak with HR and recruiters when filling out applications. Good luck to you. Something will come through. Stay persistent. As I'm writing this to you I'm writing this to myself. I'm now a RN who want to get hospital experience. While I'm currently employed I'm searching for a job as well.

i agree with the poster above ..I made a list of all the nursing homes within an hour in my area and went door to door ... if you can ask if you can personally give you app and resume to the DON. dont give up...there lots of turn over in nursing something will come up...goodluck
