I graduated from a diploma RN school last June. I just started working on my med surg floor this week. I have been having 1 pt but my preceptor has been with me most of the time. I feel stupid because I am not alone. She has let me do a few things myself but still not much.

I am afraid that when I am by myself I will forget alot. And if I ask questions again the preceptor will think I am not getting it.

I will eventually be nites but not for 6 more weeks.

You need this time to ask questions. There is no stupid question you ask, the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask. Your preceptor will back off some as you feel more comfortable and they see how you do things.

I have been a nurse for 7 years and I still have questions. We bounce things off each other all the time. So you will do fine.
