Newbie - Study help

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am new here, I am so glad I found this forum, after years of attending traditional courses and no closer to entering a program, I decided to give independent study a try.

I am pursuing EC LPN-RN. I do work full-time, but really would like to complete my RN.

I am attempting to prepare for my first exam. My retention isn't what it use to be and it wasn't that great to start with. I feel like I am running around in circles, back and forth, I just don't see any progression in my studying because, I can't seem to follow the free content guide, it seems to be all over the place, I feel so lost. I guess I don't know exactly how to use the the guide and text books yet.

Any help for an old woman that is trying to learn how to develop a study format to follow.

Thank you, and Best wishes.

Hiiii, how are things going ?? I am looking to getting start...again. How are yu coming along. Looking for study partner as well....

Hi rmarg,

It's going ok so far, I am using the free content guide and the text book recommendations.

I have been also comparing the sg101 guide, but to me it looks like a lot of same info simplified. The last time I attempted EC, I became overwhelmed so this time, I am just taking in small portions at a time, I am making my own notes and taking my time. What are you using to study?

Hello NurseMae12,

I think I may be in the same boat as you. I have tried the traditional route,

and felt quite a bit older than the other students. I just applied and am sending

transcripts now. This is very overwhelming. Do you suggest getting the

study guides from sg101? I believe I only need the nursing portion. I would love

to be part of the newbie study group if one gets going. Keep up the good work!
