Hi guys,
I'm new here and I'm looking to make a career change. I have been in sales for the last 9-10 years and I'm starting to get sick of it. I made over 100k last year but I feel like I'm going to look like I'm 50 before I reach my mids 30's. I have no college exp because I got caught up in Sales and was making good money. I was thinking about going to check out West Coast University ($$$) and doing the staright BSN RN program. They have all the pre-reqs built in and then possibly after working for a couple of years get my masters in a certain specialty TBD.
What do you guys think?

If your heart is into nursing then I say go for it! I didn't have any prior college experience and I'm doing great. Of course I'm just taking my general courses right now. Have you shadowed a nurse to see what they really do before you quit your high paying job to go straight into a BSN program?
I have yet to shadow a Nurse but my buddy's girl has been working at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach for the last 5 years and she loves her job. I have always loved helping people regardless if I knew them or not... so I figure why not keep on doing what I'm doing and make a living at the same time. What CC are you going to? Is there long waits for the pre-reqs? How old are you? I'm 29, male with a new wife + twins ALREADY :)
Bump!

I also am in the process of changing careers. My background is also sales. After 10 years of it I am ready to try something new. I am not even sure where to begin. I have been looking at nursing and other medical careers. I have some college credit but did not take it seriously enough because I was working full time so my GPA is low. I know once I put effort into something I can do really well but am still a bit scared since I have no prior medical experience.
