Hello
I have been offered a position at Newark Beth Israel and was wondering if anyone has worked there. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Good evening,
I recently accepted a position with Newark Beth Israel with the Med/Surg Float team. This will be my first hospital position. I graduated May 2010, and was working per diem doing home care and at Columbia University assisting doctors during their office hours. I noticed that you are currently working for Saint Barnabas, and I would greatly appreciate any advice that you can offer me. I am very excited to start my new job and I want to be prepared as I can be.
Thanks Erin
heyy guys i'm moving to north jersey from texas in the next 6 months and I was wondering if the hospitals are hiring at this time , been a lpn on medsurg floor for 2 1/2/ years and in october i've been in critical care stepdown unit for a year this coming october as a RN , do I have a good chance of getting hired up there by any of the hospitals ???? any bit of information would help this TEXAN )))))
I moved to Temple. I work at Scott & White. Luckily, you have experience because NJ is rough for new grads. I have lot of friends who are still there from school who are looking for jobs.
No hookups but you're doing what I would suggest...scan these threads for info. I would also research hospitals in the area where you will be living and try to start applying now. If you can make a trip up there before you move for good, to go to HR and try to find out what they are looking for and what they have, that would be a good idea.
NJ is definitely different from Texas..especially in 6 months when you're there in the winter! But, I think you'll be fine. Good luck!
esuhir- to be hired by Neward Beth Israel with no hospital experience into a the med/surg float team, one of the requirements posted on their web career page is' Must have 1 yr med/surg hospital experience'. you must not be a white 50something nurse. I interviewed for that position with 30 yrs experience hospital experience- the last 7 of which has been tele/cardiac stepdown. The critical care nurse manager who interviewed me last may 2010 is not white, was clear she didn't like white people I could tell from her handshake, did nothing but fight with me about ACLS protocol. They do not like white nurses at that hospital especially older ones. I sent a letter of complaint to the New Jersey State Nursing Association, Gov. Christy, the Office of the Attorney general and the EEOC. Maybe between the 4 different agencies they can send her back to the village she came from, and stop her from adding to the unemployment rate and economic destruction in my country! That what the USA gets for being kind to immigrants, in her case and given the fact that it is Newark- she's probably a refugee- got her nursing education on our dime. I'm sure she has displayed her distain and prejudice to other employees.
Oh and I should add- 4 years of my experience- 2004-2008 was telemetry/ neuro/med/surg/onc in one of the poorsest inner city sections of Philadelphia- Frankford. That bag really does need to go back to her home.

Still waiting. I actually don't graduate until May. I feel very fortunate to have such a great position starting out. Best of luck to everyone still trying!
