New York University (NYU) ABSN Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone!
I haven't seen a forum for NYU's Fall 2023 ABSN program, and decided to start one. Please feel free to add any information related to the program, application process, any tips, stats, words of encouragement for those accepted into the program, etc. All the best to everyone. I hope everyone's new year is off to an amazing start! ?

Yes, I received an email saying that an important update was ready to view on the portal.

I graduated from undergrad in 2020 with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 without having taken any nursing prereq's, so I took those at a community college and received a 4.0 in those courses. I work full time as a research coordinator and have done my fair share of volunteering, but other than that, nothing too special.

Thank you for the detailed response. And when did you submit your application?

I actually submitted it on the day it was due for priority admissions (March 1st).

Thank you! ? I'm really not sure yet. This is a hard decision to make. They're both great schools. I always dreamed of attending NYU. But that tuition thougghhhh! ?? And I love that Pace would have me done in 11 months. Ughh, such a hard decision to make...

I applied on Martin Luther King Day (Jan. 16th) purposely because this is my DREAM school. ❤️ My undergraduate degree was in Health Sciences. I graduated with a 3.6 GPA. I have a master's degree in Business Administration. I have a 3.92 GPA in my pre-reqs. I have worked in healthcare for 7+ years (administration, admissions and finance). I also volunteered at a pediatric clinic years ago.

thank you:) I read on Pace NCLEX passing rates plus the 11 months not being able to work. ughhhh. So intense.

Did your checklist dissapear?

Also, Besides adding prereq online, is there anything that I have to do?

You're welcome! ? It's funny-I was checking my portal today, and realized that it did look different. My checklist did not disappear. But I noticed that unofficial transcripts that were listed (and entered by me) at the bottom of my portal page could no longer be viewed. That's when I felt something was up, but I didn't know I'd get a decision so soon.

You needed to enter your pre-reqs, and fill out your FAFSA if you desire financial aid. Did you send in your official transcript(s) with Parchment? That's something you must do.

Congrats everyone!

I got accepted as well...don't know how to feel about only having a week to decide, somewhat cruel. The other school I applied to won't be sending out their statuses until the end of May...

Worst case scenario...is it possible to commit and then withdraw? I assume there's a deposit that we won't get back, but wondering if that is even an option.

Thank you! Congratulations to you as well! Yeah, I really wish they gave more time...especially with such a huge deposit price. Ughh

I was thinking the same thing... the only downside I can think of, besides losing the small amount of money we will be paying compared to tuition, is if it will impact us if we want/try to apply for a different semester

Definitely thought about this as well

They'd probably be tired of me. LOL I got accepted twice to NYU. They probably wouldn't take me seriously. Don't know if my name would have a red flag next to it ?
