I had went to their new grad meet and greet in November, after filling out their requisite questionnaire. I received and automated email saying that I was a top candidate etc, however there are many candidates, ... There was nothing at the current time open for new grads. Tough hospital to get interviewed for. Make sure to look into interview questions etc. They'll def try to ask you all of them
I got the same e-mail! This does appear to be a new process for NYP- i.e. the skipping the meet and greet event and replacing it with the virtual event/ interviews. I still think that the "top" applicant pool is very large though, so it's tough. I wasn't able to log into the virtual event the other night so I will be attending the alternate date this Tuesday at 5:00 pm. I plan to ask the Talent Acquisition Team if things are progressing differently this year- like if they have a lot of known openings for new grads and whether the "interview" that we're going on is with a specific unit(s) that we could potentially get hired to, or whether it's just an initial screening sort of situation.
Haha I vaguely remember putting my 3 top floors down. I'm pretty sure picu and ed were my top 2, so I guess most of us got the floors we put down for preference. A little confused though because they made it seem like that even though we're interviewing on these floors, that doesn't necessarily mean those are the floors we'd be hired onto. I wonder why they don't just give us general interviews then, hmm..
Is your interview June 9th too?

I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.
Thank you!
