Hi All,
I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.
What are the Teachers like?
What are the required books?
Is the program as intense as they say?
Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?
Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?
Do they provide job Placement at the end???
Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!
thanks guys. I'm gonna see what western boces says about the lpn program on monday. Also Look into cna programs.
Malenurse, I took the test for western boces and failed it by one point. So start studying now!!!! The tes that they use is the net and they have a net book to help you prepare for the exam. Western wants you to have exceptional test taking skills which is a portion on the test you must score really high on that and the other 3 subjects which is language expression, math, and reading comp. All three subject scores must be over 50% to pass (I failed the reading comp by 1 or 2 points to get the interview) They have a prep course you can take to help you prepare for the test but in order for you to qualify you have to take a tabe test which math section is extremely hard they have everything from addition /subtraction to geometry !!! The tabe's math section is harder than the net's math section by far. But you have to take that test only if you want to take the prep course. If you dont want to take the prep course you can just study the book for the test on your own. I would encourage to take the prep course because I would not have passed the language expression part on the test because they want you to know when to use who, whom, whomever, whoever in a sentence. present tense, past tense and past participle to complete a sentence. Ummm. . . . use captilization properly like my aunt Vinnie not my Aunt Vinnie but if the sentence says Aunt Jackie is great (this sentence is correct) it is not aunt Jackie is great! Its tricky also spelling which it not hard but it has words like compelled or compeled which one is correct . So I would recommend taking the prep course but you have to take the tabe test which is difficult and then pay like 300 something dollars for the course. Keep you options open just wanted to give you like an overview . . . . .but I was told that eastern boces test is much easier!
Why they send out all that mail. And give you all the same date 3/18/09! Is there anyone who don't have that date! I am trying to figure out if they put you guys in some kind of group the 1st 100 get 3/18/2009 because somone who I no that gose told me that pick 300 that pass and put 50 on the waiting list and interview 250 then many of don't pass the drug test and some don't have $1500 others can pay for physical ( shots ) $110/per shot ect $75,$50,$125 pershot so u guys better not be taking drugs because there going to stand in the bathroom with u and there take hair too!
Definitely make sure all your immunizations are up to date and bring your records. That was my mistake from last year, ended up costing me a few hundred.
I should have gone to my doctor and gotten the shots for the cost of the co-pay.
And they don't test your hair.
Thanks Grindin26, do they give us a specific form thats gets filled out or what?? How does that work?? And how long does it take to get the acceptance letter??
