I took it recently. It's not bad at all. You need an 80 to pass and there are about 40 questions. They ask abbreviations (like what does po mean, that's not on the test so I'm not giving anything away but it's just an example), calculations between units, then to verify if an order is complete and accurate, then general pharm questions (know insulin types) and then general med calculations. I'm a new grad and was worried about it but it was fine. They don't try to trick you or anything.
Hey Destined RN. I feel the same way!! I've applied to over 100 jobs online and this was the only interview I've been on! So disheartening after going through nursing school. I actually mailed in my resume to NYM and applied online. I think I also might try calling different HRs and talking to them about different prospects for new hires. Are you a new grad?
Hello GoVeg,
Yes, I am a new grad. It been over a year since I graduated and I am getting real nervous. I wish I knew what these hospitals are looking for. I have updated my resume several times and even mailed my resume, license, diploma and registration via overnight mail just the other day to a hospital 1.5hrs away from me with hopes that it will actually get into the hands of the recruiter. I know what I went through and the many sacrifices I made to gain my second degree in Nursing. I just want all my efforts to pay off already!

You are speaking my language, Destinedrn! I feel the same way! I'm new to nyc so I don't have any connections and I have no idea how to get noticed by HR. I just want an interview (even though I botched mine with NYM )
As for where I mailed it, I can't remember the address. The recruiter did tell me that at NYM they open up new grad positions every so often on their online careers page but they only stay open for a day or so. She also did say that they read fully everything that comes in, so that was good news! If you're interested in NYM and are a new grad, I'd keep an eye out for the new grad listings.

Hi!
I was wondering if anyone had any advice/study guides regarding what to study for the NY Methodist pharmacology exam that is given prior to an interview? Thanks in advance!
