New Year, Same Stuff.

Wow! I had a good day. Two hour delay due to the bitter cold. Saw a couple fevers. One kid that texted his mom insisting he had frostbite from over the break so she took him home. ( whatever) other than that, I spent most of my day getting together parent permission letters for 11th grade physicals. No paper cuts! This will be my 3rd mailing about this...

my day overall wasn't awful - a little bit of lice - and letters to follow so tomorrow may be worse putting out the parent calls of "mass hysteria". I'm recovering from a cough so i feel like uggghhh - but i'm not sick enough to bail on work. Too much trouble.

Taking a 4-day break (1/1 - 1/4) after working Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.

911 call for a syncope. Way to start the new year :) Student is Ok though absent today.

Starting 2018 off with a 2 hour delay and 3 new daily medication orders! Yay!

We have PD today with the littles back tomorrow. I'm in street clothes and everyone has commented on it (I wear scrubs daily)

I got an email about a little one with a broken leg and we are BARELY ADA accessible (there are literally stairs into each grade level, the cafeteria and gym.) so I will have the wonderful job of running in the little one around the outside of the building in this bitter cold for at least a month.

We were on a 2 hour delay today since it was cold -5 outside this morning. But.. I've had 3 with belly ache and missing mom/grandma. 25 absent. 2 with suspected flu as soon as they walked in the door. Temps 103. Mom refused to come get them. She finally agreed then refused to take them to the doctor and admitted to sending them today because she was out of excused days and she wanted a nurses excuse for them.

I am 2 hours into my day back so far.

I am still off for break. I am in my jammie bottoms and Jurassic Park t-shirt. I was wearing it to a Jurassic World exhibit at a museum in Chicago but my train was delayed for more than two hours because the water in the break lines froze (today wasn't even as cold as the last 10 days!). So My sister and I went to the Art Institute instead (named the best museum in the world!) and had lunch. Good times.

I had nightmares over break about them putting carpet down in my office and then a kid immediately puked on it.

WooHoo...Snow Day, here! If we could just have tomorrow off, too. (Probably just a delayed opening).
