Hello everyone! I'm currently working adjunct as a clinical instructor with ADN students. Saw an OT who works as an educator who told me that her students once had a rap battle. I really want to do things that are fun and engaging. So, I thought about having my next clinical group do a rap intro. Instead of standing in front of the students and introducing myself, I would instead introduce my self in a short rap: "My name is Ms. Mahoney. I have my MSN. I want all students to get their learning in." Something like that.
Does it sound doable or just silly?

I think your students will probably be nervous enough without having to introduce themselves through an on-the-spot quasi-creative performance.
You are making some assumptions; what is fun and engaging to someone who isn't in the high-pressure situation may not be a source of enjoyment and entertainment for the one who is.
Fun and engaging to me as a student beginning a new clinical involved clear expectations and explanations and an instructor who is calm but upbeat, knowledgeable and encouraging and ready/willing to help facilitate learning opportunities and experiences. Clinical itself should be very engaging inherently since there is so much to see, do, and learn.
Disclosure: I don't feel particularly creative and people's need to try to force others to participate because they think it's great is just really not fun for me personally. I won't throw a tantrum, but it's uncomfortable/unpleasant.
Although...you could look into ways to use your creativity to help students remember critical information...that's something that has a primary purpose besides just being creative.

I seriously would quit nursing school if someone tried to make me do this.

It might give some of them a CVA. I know it would at least cause some trauma.
