Hello Everyone! I'm about to start interviewing for some potential travel opportunities in the San Antonio/Houston Texas Area. I'm pretty open for my first assignment as far as location. I'm currently using TNAA as my agency (anyone have experiences with them?). I have 1.5 years of CCU experience, 1 year PCU and some floor experience prior to that. Any recommendations as far as which hospitals to stay away from? How are travelers generally treated? I will be traveling ICU. Any and all advice is welcomed!

Nothing wrong with TNAA, but get some other agencies on board. This is not a marriage, and it is allowed to fool around. Much safer to have a Plan B (and Plan C) and while your first assignment is not for the money, eventually having agency choices is the only way to maximize both your compensation and your assignment choices.
As far as what you get treated like, every single hospital and unit is different. Some places you walk on water, in others you will never be trusted, and in others you will get dumped on. But it is only 13 weeks in the crappy places, and in the others you can extend!
I took your advice and got onboard with another agency and will end up making more money. I will still be in San Antonio! Very excited to start!

My first assignment was in San Anton with TNAA and had a good experience. They paid on time and had good extra shift bonuses (although I only worked 1 extra shift). I feel like the pay was about the same as the other quotes I received. Switched agencies for my second assignment because TNAA didn't have jobs in the location I wanted, and I miss their awesome health insurance!
