hi everyone! I am a new member of this forum. I hope that i can make lotsa new friends here.

I am finishing some more GEs to get into the RN program at my school. I was wondering how you guys (especially those who are already in the program) find the course?

I have a friend and she just started her clinicals and she said she hated it cause it was depressing...

i'm loving school, clinicals are a little scary and confusing at first, but i wouldn't say they were depressing.

some school start clinicals in ltc (long term care) new name for nursing home, so maybe that is what she meant. :o

Hi Trixie! Welcome aboard! Nursing school for me was scary and depressing in the beginning but it turned to be very exciting and fun really quickly. Your friend like sandra said might have thought it was depressing because of the clinicals she was in or maybe it is not personally for her. Some areas are a little bit more sad. However, nursing is about helping people. Sometimes it is just time for people to leave and go to another place. It is hard to realize that it is time to go especially small babies but it is my personal belief and ONLY my personal belief that everything happens for a reason and that person will go on to a better place.

hi and welcome! i'm new here myself.

i love clinicals. the high point of my weeks. i think it takes a certain perspective to not get a little depressed long term care clinicals though. i've always thought of it as my privilege to help out and bring a smile to an older adult. smiles for them can be few and far between.

I am just finishing up LPN school, but I can honestly say not one thing has been depressing for me! I've loved every stressful minute of it!:)
