New Student needing some serious advice

Published

:crying2: I am a 25 yr old mom of three young kids (5,3 & 1) and a wife to a US navy sailor. I am starting back school going for my LPN, I am a little scared but very excited. I will be taking my classes at night, my husband will be leaving in aug. of this year. I don't what to do with my kids. I have tried to find childcare at night which I can afford but have not. I am down to a LPN. I always wanted to become a peds dr., after my first child; I said I will get my RN. I don't have much people cheering me on but my husband and my mother. Friends and family don't really think I can do it because I am in cali with no family or friends to help. Does anyone have any advice.

Isn't there a group of military wives that you can get help from? I thought they were usually a pretty tight group and helped each other out as they were all pretty much in the same boat with their husbands stationed out of the country. I'd check into military options available to you. Perhaps you can call someone at the naval base and see what kind of help they can hook you up with.

Can you take some of your classes on-line? That's what I've did whenever possible so I didn't have to use daycare. At any rate...Good Luck!!

Hello willie,

I do understand about that being away too long. For a whole year too, that is just devastating. Might as well just live with your mom, because I know not seeing them for that long is out of the question.............lol

Anyway, nothing is coming up on my end, but I'm not done yet. I do hope something will pan out. Keep your head up.

Why take night classes? Is it so that your husband can watch the kids before he ships out? If not, you know that most community colleges have childcare for students.... and that many friends of mine use that service. That would solve your dilemma.....

hope this helps...

Is your mom willing to fly out and live with you while he's gone?
