Does any one have the 5th edition? I purchased the 4th a couple of months before the 5th came out and was just wondering what the difference was. I know there are alternative format questions but is there a whole lot of difference besides that change?
did anyone use any other books along with the comprehensive saunders to study or does that one suffice?
I'm using Saunders 5th ed. along with Lippincott's Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN. I haven't been deep enough into Lippincott to tell you if I think it's useful yet though. IMO it's always good to have another source, even if you don't heavily depend on it.
I love my Saunders book. I have the 5th edition. I can't compare to the 4th though since the 5th is the only one I have. I use that alongside of Kaplan Test Prep to prepare for exams and study for NCLEX. So far, the combo has been helpful for me and I have been more than satisfied with my grades and learning progress so far in my program.
can you use this book to help you study for your nursing courses in nursing school?
Both books (4th & 5th editions) are great study aids for school. It is recommended to buy an NCLEX book from the start even if you're nowhere near ready to take the NCLEX. Those books have a comprehensive review (including peds!) plus practice questions, which you should be doing daily.

For Mac users: the 5th edition CD is Mac-compatible. I know I had issues with the 4th edition CD (thankfully the company is awesome and sent me a new CD that is now Mac-compatible, free of charge!)
