New RN transition from LPN to RN job at a rehab facility

Published

Hello Everyone!!

I have just accepted a job in a retirement home working in a rehab unit. I was working as an LPN for aprox 5 years and now am making my transition into working as an RN. Wish me good luck and I will keep everyone posted. I am a little bit nervous because I have been working as a private care nurse for aprox 2 of the 5 years. I am a little concerned about being able to make a smooth transition, the facility only offers 8 days of orientation, is this possible to achieve?

Congrats! 8 days doesn't seem like much, but since you're experienced you'll do fine.

Good luck!!

You're welcome. It's normal to be nervous when starting a new adventure, especially one that might be a step up - we wonder if we can measure up to the expectations of the new title, other people and most of all ourselves.
