  1. Just keep in mind that you can always move around and do so many different things, and work in many different specialties even as an LPN. Always keep an open mind. If you are not sure about where you want to work you can always volunteer at a facility to see what it may be like to work in another specialty. Going back for you BSN is a good idea. You can always go pt time and work, with online classes and flexible scheduling for both work and school you can do anything you want, the sky is the limit. Don't give up and don't think you are resticted in anyway.
  2. Hello Everyone!! I have just accepted a job in a retirement home working in a rehab unit. I was working as an LPN for aprox 5 years and now am making my transition into working as an RN. Wish me good luck and I will keep everyone posted. I am a little bit nervous because I have been working as a private care nurse for aprox 2 of the 5 years. I am a little concerned about being able to make a smooth transition, the facility only offers 8 days of orientation, is this possible to achieve?
  3. That is so unprofessional to give out personal information like that. Keep your diseases to yourself. The nurse who called in should know better than that.
  4. Hello everyone, I need some advise, I have been an LPN in Canada for aprox 5 yrs. I just recently got my RN licence in michigan. I worked at a longterm facility and worked my butt off as a floor nurse. I DO NOT WANT TO BE A FLOOR NURSE ANYMORE!!!!!!! AND I HATE HOSPITALS. Does anyone have any job suggestions or advise?
