New to Rhode Island- Networking

U.S.A. Rhode Island

Published

Hello-

I am a new graduate from Pennsylvania trying to get a job in Rhode Island (husband has been in RI since June). I was just looking for any advice on where I can find a job, and any networking tips you may have. I applied to RIH, Newport Hospital, South County, and some positions on craigslist, with no luck. For a little background- I was an aide for 3 years in a Trauma Surgical ICU here in PA, before that I was a home health manager, and before that a Real Estate agent. I will be taking RI boards at the end of January.

Thanks in advance!

"Are you currently licensed in CT? If you don't have a valid CT license its doubtful your app will get past the first person..Most have the requirement as a Valid CT license. If you don't hold a CT license that is probably why you haven't gotten any acknowledgement of your submittal, you don't have the needed requirements.

I have several friends who work in HR and they've said, with the amount of apps the get, if they see all the requirements aren't met the app is forgotten about."

No I am not currently licensed in CT. I just took and passed NCLEX this week. However, all of the positions that I have applied to in CT have been new graduate programs with the requirement being that I have obtained my CT license by the program start date.

CONGRATS on Passing :yeah:. Best of luck in the job hunt.

PS @ Joella--- How did you study for NCLEX? What was your study plan like ?

I just used Saunders and did 100 questions a day...After taking it I realized that I might as well have took the exam like a few of my classmates the week after graduation. Nothing that I studied for was on the exam...felt like it was a complete waste of my time studying and doing questions. I could have taken that exam the first week out and got the same results
