New to Per Diem, personal Health Insurance questions

I have recently stopped traveling and am doing some per diem nursing in the San Francisco area. This is the first time I have been a position where I need to get my own health insurance. I'm young (early 20's) and healthy... How much should I be paying per month for temporary insurance (prefer to have Rx coverage, decent co-pay for MD visits..)??? Any advice would be helpful.

You will have to educate yourself a little on this stuff. A good place to just go and compare is ehealthinsurance.com. Make sure you choose temporary insurance as the rules are going to be different for temporary insurance in comparison to regular individual plans. You can purchase at sites like ehealth or go to the individual carrier websites. Benefits and physician/facility vary with the amount of money you are willing to pay. If you chose regular insurance there will be a rather extensive underwriting process and you will have to answer a lot of questions. READ THE FINE TYPE.

I'm also a 20something y.o. per diem in SF and I have health insurance through Kaiser Permanente. It's my 3rd year purchasing individual health insurance from them so the cost has gone up significantly since my first year. Just go to kp.org and hit prospective member for quotes and such.
