Fortunately I was a LPN before i attained my RN and worked at a nursing home/ rehab center. I built a work ethic and relationships with my coworkers who also worked at hospitals. Finally, when it came time to ask them if they could get me into their hospitals, they obliged. For many of my classmates still,it's been difficult. If you want to work in hospital in NYC, most either want experience or BSN at the
minimum. Nursing homes are usually willing to hire new grad RNs. However, I know some who've newly graduated with no prior experience at all and have landed jobs. It will take perisitence. If you really believe it's for you, then go for it!
I was a ASN and just graduated with my BSN. I have 4-5 years experience in the hospital and have a hard time finding a job! I really prefer NYP columbia or cornell but I can never land an interview There aren't even that much openings like before. Is NYP going through something anyone know?
Graduated in June 2016 with my ADN from LaGuardia Community College and currently work at NYC + HHC Harlem Hospital in the emergency department. So far so good. I love it!
That's amazing! Gives me hope. May I ask for your experience in trying to land a job with ADN?
I just graduated and will take my NCLEX by the beginning of march. I need to land a job asap due to certain obligations.

I know a lot of people sort of fall off this site once they start nursing school but I really need to know. Despite, not having the coveted BSN degree are New ADN grads working in NYC?
This applies to anyone whose graduated in the last year in a half.
