My favorite story from my first year of nursing ( remember I work psych)
I called for orders for a new admit and the on call dr ( who I had never met) asked me what I thought I should do to which I replied " I am a new nurse doc, I dont think yet" which made him laugh and he gave me the orders.
Fast forward about 6 weeks, same on call doc, patient acting out violently " Hi doc, we are going to give 5 of haldol and 2 of ativan to so and so, ok with you" He replied, you learn fast.

Hi all!! I'm a new nurse who graduated a year ago. There have been many ups and downs and I'm still working on my confidence and hoping to keep it together day by day like most new nurses I'm sure. Any other new nurses out there with some experiences to share? I'd love to hear from all if you and your thoughts in nursing as a new nurse :)
