Published

HEllo everyone. I just got a case in home care and I start Sunday. I will be taking care of a 2 1/2 year old with cp from 7pm to 7am. Before this I was working in a LTC Facility... I didnt care for it much.. I always felt rushed with my residents. So now Im doing home care. Is there any advice that you can give me? Iwant to do my job well.. I dont know how long I wil do homecare because I feel like I can lose my skills... any Opinions?

Be professional, be proficient, and be poised for any questions the mother might have for the first few days. If you do not know, say so, but assure her you will get her the answer she needs. Good luck.

On the flip side I lost a ton of skills going to home but on the flip side I gained alot of skills being increased confidence and keener eye, Lordy I can bandage anything with little supplies or things not meant to be supplies LOL.

Are you comfortable flipping from adults to kids?
