Hi all,
Just wondering what experience to put on my resume as a new grad NP. Would other previous jobs such as pharmacy technician make me more marketable or should I only put my nursing experience? Thanks!

I’m sure it varies on opinion but I’m a believer in submitting only relevant information on my resume geared towards the prospective job.
When I applied for my surgical ICU NP position I included my last five years of rapid response and ICU experience and roles (charge, preceptor, committees). I left out the fact that I use to work at Disney world selling ice cream prior to nursing....
Now when I initially applied for my first nursing job I did include the Disney position and was sure to include key words showcasing how it crafted my customer service skills and mindset. It was always a conversation during interviews and I know it was a definite highlight, it wasn’t about selling ice cream but rather what I gained from employment. I included that along with my patient care tech experience.
I don’t think I would include the pharmacy tech position unless it was a job you held in the last few years and you have nothing else valuable to add to the resume. I don’t think “fluff” gets you anything when you are one of hundred of applicants. My opinion, looking forward to reading others.

Try a pro resume writing service like top resume or something. $150 or do is little to pay for a product looking remarkably better than most nurse resumes I see.
