Well, as luck would have it, they've changed the style of NCLEX. No longer is it multiple choice.... it's also fill in the blank, locate & click diagrams, etc. We took a sample test the other day and we all left in a daze... and scared. Has anyone else seen the new style? They start this new format June 1st, I think. I'll be paying VERY close attention at our NCLEX Review Conference in July
Yes, I have. And the NCLEX will still have the majority of its questions in the traditional multiple choice format. I will be taking that test soon. And no, we who are graduating have had little or no prep for the changes, but it's not going to be so horrible.
Our instructor informed us today that there would be some of the new formatted questions on the NCLEX we will be taking soon, but it wouldn't count. They're testing it out right now, I guess.
The Board of Nursing came to talk to our school this week and told us that we probably would not get even one of the new questions. If we did it would more than likely just be one and could just be a pilot question.
I think they should put out new study material to prepare graduates before introducing the new exam...but I know that life isn't fair. And besides, who's gonna listen to a girl who hasn't even been accepted into a nursing program yet...lol :)
