I have a Littmann Classic 2 S.E. and was thinking about going to the Littmann Cardiology 3. Do you think this is a wise investment? I feel like there is several things I would like to get to help me be successful in the unit. Im trying to be wise about my spending. Thanks for your replies.

Not really, as long as you trust that your bell and diaphragm serve independent purposes. Some real cheap stethoscopes the bell is pretty much useless.
FWIW, I've got the cardiology III and love it. It's held up through 3 years of nursing school and works without a glitch and I beat this thing up pretty bad.

You don't NEED it to work in ICU. It's all in what you've learned with and are most comfortable with. I will tell you that after growing up with my master cards and cards III, I can't hear anything with any other scope.
