I am starting in September I figured it would be nice to start a thread where all of us new students could come and and share our experiences/help eachother out as we are on our way to be nurses :)
I just finished my 4th week of school and I suggest buying a digital recorder. There is so much info and sometimes you may miss something while taking notes. In my class, there is one person who types his notes while listening to the recording and then send them in an email to the the entire class.
Did anyone start clinicals yet? I start Monday and am so terrified! I have never been in the medical field and I don't know if I will like! I know it's a little late for that. But, I thought being in class and learning would ease my mind once clinicals started and it hasnt! I'm afraid I might have an anxiety attack or faint once I walk in the building. Just thinking about that day is making me sick to my stomach. Any advice on how to get over this fear?

p.s good luck to all future lpns :nuke:
We'll be starting clinicals November 3rd, first the nursing homes then after Christmas we'll be going to the hospitals. So far all we've done is lecture and lab every single day since mid August when the program started. I'm nervous about the clinicals but REALLY ready to get out of the class room. 8 hours in the same tiny little room with the same people is enough to make anyone go crazy, lol....and I'm the only guy in a class of 30 so there's that. I'm just ready to start getting some hands on experience...and the clinical sites are usually the ones who hire most of the graduates so this will be like an extended job interview :)

the technical schools cost under 5k - including uniforms! i was going to go that route too, but the thought of owing that much money to anyone, scares me!
