Hi,
I'll be graduating in June, and before I find a place in the LTC world we seem to be relegated to in this state, I was wondering if camps hire LPN's? It sounds like agreat way to spend the summer after school is over and before I begin a RN program. I was going to do a medical mission but, sadly, I don't have enough money to pay to go on one. Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Try search on this Forum for ideas and info. What state are you in? Is that where you want to look? I am not familiar with LPNs at camp; I hope you can find one.

Yes, many camps hire LPNs, either to work independently or to work alongside RNs. I just discovered that http://www.campstaff.com, which I previously mentioned but is really geared toward camp counselors, has launched a new site: http://nurses.campstaff.com. Post a query, and let the camp directors come to you! This site gets a LOT of traffic.

Many camps do hire LPNs. In fact, I just graduated last June and on June 1 I am heading off to camp for 9 weeks with my 8 yr. old in tow! Yippee!
Campstaff.com is GREAT. I filled out my profile and BOOM! I had so many job offers it was crazy. However, most seemed to be in the New England area, and I'm here in the (yawn) midwest. If you don't mind flying, location won't matter to you though.
Best of luck!
