oh i was thinking possibly at a prison? good or bad?

Hi,

I am also a new lpn grad and I took a position in the prison. So far I like what I am doing. I medicate for about 100+ inmates and do accu checks, order meds, transcribing orders, inventory of syringes and lancets, etc. It is quite hectic, but I managed to pick it up in 2 weeks. The money is really good. I make $26.50 and there is unlimited OT. It is worth trying.

may, where are you working? im having no luck finding a job, i passed my NCLEX june 13 ...been applying to palces for 2 weeks and i keep getting "were looking for someone with experience" :(

I work for the Phila prison systems (PHS) to be exact. They hire new graduates. In the beginning it is a little tough because a lot of employers ask for some type of experience. I am going to get a job in a nursing home though to get some LTC experience because without it I will be limited as to where I can go. The prison is good, but make sure you don't stay there too long and lose your nursing skills.
