New job seems sketchy

So, I could use some advice. I've been looking for a job for a few months and finally found one that works for me, and I think I would like. I was supposed to meet with the director of nursing, but couldn't meet them because they had a meeting. During my interview, the person interviewing me asked me why I didn't want to work full time. When I explained I was a bible teacher, their reaction made me slightly uncomfortable. However, they decided to move forward with the hiring process. I have all my paperwork, and the DON called me and said he would text me the info for where to report on my first day. This was 2 days ago and i haven't gotten a text yet. Also, he had a strange reaction when I told him the availability I was hired with. I reached out via text, as he asked me to. But it's been 24 hours with no response. What should I do?

Just wanted to let everyone know that I went on the interview! This second job seems so much better than the first. Now, I'm not sure what to do. Should I still try this first place out? I'm supposed to start tomorrow at the first place, and I told the second job I would let them know by next week. Do you guys think that's too long for me to give them notice? I need feedback!

Take the 2nd job -- the one that appeals to you the most. The first one lost its chance when it didn't get you the information you needed in a timely manner. If asked ... "While I was waiting for you to get back to me with information about my 1st day, another employer offered me a job that will better suit my needs. Thank you for your consideration. I'm sorry it didn't work out."

The thing is, they did get back to me. I start tomorrow at job A. If I decide not to continue after the first week, do you think I should still give a 2-week notice?

No need to give a two week notice in orientation. Just let them know as soon as possible you won't be working with them.
