Hey guys! I got a new per diem job at my first TCU/rehab hospital! I'm super excited to have more experience than my LTC facility. Is there any tips anyone could give me? I know these patients will be more acute.
I had my last LPN clinical at a rehab hospital and I loved it so much. I hope this job is similar!

Congratulations!
I work on a TCU, but mine is actually in a hospital, so your mileage may vary. If you've done LTC, you will do fine in rehab. There may be some skills you will need to learn (dunno what sorts of patients you have in LTC, do you guys do trachs, etc?), but that's the facility's job to train you!
I've done acute care (did pedi before I switched jobs), and after working rehab (Considered "sub acute" but anyone who works rehab knows that's BS LOL), I will never go back.
This forum isn't as active as it used to be, but come back and let us know how you do. Good luck. ?

I did around 6 months at a LTC unit and I am about to start a new position at a rehabilitation hospital. Very excited and nervous about what to expect.
I decided to decline the job offer, after them telling me they couldn't accommodate my restrictions placed by my doctor. I'll take this as a sign though. It just wasn't for me. ?

Oh, best of luck to you, wherever you end up!
