Hi, I just accepted an RN position at a nursing home and they told me they don't have an e-Mar yet but they are working on it soon. I have never had to do this on anything other than the computer, has anyone else had this problem? How can you pass your medications without a computer system?

Most likely, ktaetsch, you will learn how to use an MAR during your orientation process.
Here is some information to get you going that I found by Googling "Medication Administration Record instructions".
Here's an image of a sample completed MAR followed by a link to instructions:

This was the method used to pass meds for years and years.
Good luck to you in your new position!

At the risk of sounding scathing, nurses have coped with paper MARs for many years
That said, I'm in a similar position, have gone from using an electronic MAR back to paper charting and its a major culture shock. Although I'm told they are hoping to get my new facility on an electronic MAR by the end of the year

Ah, the good old days. Used a daily print out, drew a line through the med when given and initialed.
It was so much less time consuming than pushing around a broken down WOW and scanning meds and wristbands. You might come to like it.
