Has anyone Applied, going to apply or heard back from a recruiter as of yet ?

I know with some of the hospitals closing its more competitive....just want to hear what's going on with applying this summer.

I run a summer extern program. The application was today. We have over 60 applicants for about 10 positions -- but ours has always been quite competitive. Now it's time to review all their applications, do interviews, and select.

I applied to 3 - 1 in November, 1 in December and 1 was just posted online about a week or so ago and I applied. So far, I haven't heard anything yet. The one in November, I'm going to follow up on..but it's my last choice. The one I applied in December, the deadline is at the end of this month..so I'll give them time.

And the one that was just posted, I'll give them some time.

I'm guessing we should start hearing things next month. Fingers crossed!

I'm just seeing your response, DaddyO! Yes, I'm in northern NJ, you? Have you applied to any or heard back from any?

The one I did in November..they called me back (I had called to ask about my status) and they said they are still reviewing applications -- they had 100 applications for 10 positions! The one I applied for in December, it just closed last week. They have 300 applications for 30 positions. And the one I had just applied to in Feb..it was only open for a month and I heard they have 150 applications for 10 positions. So, things are DEFINITELY tight!

Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, was one that I applied to. I did not hear anything from them, but I do understand that they have all its Extern position filled for the summer. I know of one person that was chosen.

Still waiting for the others.

Oh ok...cool! The one in November I applied to was Somerset Medical. The one in December was Atlantic Health and the one in February was Beth Israel (under St. Barnabas) in Newark. Just going to sit and wait :)

Which area would you be interested in working in and why ?

Why should they hire you ?

Why do you want to be a Nurse ?

Can you describe a time when you had to deal with a problem......how did you handle it and what if anything was learned ?

What do you know about our hospital ?
