New Jersey CDS class

So 13 weeks to go until I am done with school and just today find out that New Jersey required a CDS class. No problem I can do another class, but.. I am scheduled to be in Haiti the only time I can find a class (June 18th).

So long question short....

Does anyone know if there are any CDS classes in New Jersey anytime from now until September (except the week of June 18th)

UMDNJ is the only place I can find that offers this class,

What is a CDS class? Also I am also going to Haiti to volunteer around that time, where in Haiti are you going? Also what school did you go to for you APN?

CDS is controlled dangerous substances, we need a 6 hours class on Prescribing controlled substances.

I am going to Port au Prince in Haiti, well I was going to go not too sure about that now.

For anyone who is looking at this topic now, I took my NJ CDS prescribing course online through Monmouth University. It worked out great, and was reasonably priced. They give you nearly 2 weeks to watch all the videos and complete the post-test.

Is the CDS course required if you've been an NP for many years in another state? I have had so much difficulty confirming with the NJ board of nursing that I even need to take this CDS course since i've been a NP since 2009 in NY prescribing controlled substances. I still haven't heard back from them but need to take the course ASAP. Does anyone know of any other places to take this CDS course that appears to be required for the NJ NP license? The only places I found that offer it are Rutgers (March class is full) and Monmouth but thats not till May. Anyone know anywhere else in NY, PA, anywhere??

For everyone's info, the NJ board of nursing accepts the online CDS course through Barkley and Associates. There's 3 courses that amount to 6.5 credits and it cost approx 90$. Did it in one night! Was just notified my NP license was finall processed so it definitely works.
