New immigration fee schedule in effect June 01

Published

Please remember that US Immigration is significantly raising its fees on June 01. So expect there to be changes to contracts from agencies and facilities that are paying for your immigration fees, etc. More than likely you will see an increase to a three year contract. But be very leary of those that will try to cut your salary on top of that. The agencies have known about this for sometime.

If you are paying your fees, then do not expect any changes, as you will be paying the increased costs yourself.

Thanks for this info, Suzanne!

Suzanne, I couldn't find the announcement for its implementation on the uscis website. Can you post the link please?

Last thing I found over there when i searched for "fee raises" was the proposal to raise announcement released last feb. And I thought this thing was still under congressional review. Dont they need congress's "go ahead" to implement the new fee schedule?

They do not need approval to start to collect the higher fees. This is being talked about all over in the US at the moment. And with some protests.

I do not have a link, but this is per my friends that were just at immigration office here in the US a few days ago. The person at the desk told them again that it was good that their things were being finalized now as the rates would be up the first of next month. They are not nurses, so they are still getting processed for their green cards now.

Just giving a heads up on what we are hearing over here. And what the immigration attorneys that I consult are telling me.

Just trying to give a head's up from what we are hearing in the US, as well as from the attorneys that I consult with.

Increase is on average about 80%. My friend did not send me the e-mail that she received from them as of yet. I am on vacation still, so not spending much time on-line right now.

here, you can refer to this thread (click here) we posted before.

hope this helps.

The requirement about the increase in fees is that it is to be listed for at least 60 days before it goes into effect so that others can give their input on it. And they were posted in February, and there has never been anything posted about it not being changed. Therefore, expect it to go up as originally planned.

This is also what it being discussed on anything else that I am coming across.

Closing this thread since USCIS has delayed increase of rates until the end of July, so this is no longer current information.
