New Graduate position suggestions in LA area? BSN of 4 months

U.S.A. California

Published

Hey guys!

I graduated 4 months ago with my BSN and passed the nclex. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to apply to in the LA area? Maybe some smaller hospitals I haven't thought of yet. I'm new to the area. Any info is appreciated!

Start with magnet facilities, they usually are the ones offering new grad programs and specifically BSN grads. Then work your way down or just call every hospital and comb through job searches daily, apps come and go quickly. Socal actually has more programs offered then norcal, doesn't mean it's any easier however.

Also other then small community hospitals which sometime hire year round on a need basis (with hookups), most facilities hire during certain times of the year and rotate around. You just gotta be on top of it and know which programs are the ones being offered and follow them closely. Maybe check all the commutable places first, if not you're probably gonna have to relocate regardless.

Map the hospitals in LA County and determine where they are relative to where you live. You could also include hospitals in Orange County, Ventura County, Riverside County and San Bernardino County depending on what part of LA County you are in and how far you are willing to drive.

Also, subscribe to the CA New Grad RN facebook page. They frequently post links to job postings new grads would be eligible to apply for.

I was just driving down to Los Angeles from San Francisco yesterday and when I got into LA via the I-5, I saw a bus that said that the Los Angeles County Police is looking for nurses: LASD Medical Staff positions
