Nurses New Nurse

Published

I am a recent nurse graduate and I am looking to find a job. Any one know how I can get a job while I wait to take my board. I really need one.

thanks

i have applied but no response yet. I live in MD, do you know any hospital that can take me.

Hi...

Your best best is to apply to facilities near you and follow-up with them after you apply. I am not in MD, but I assume its the same process for other states as well. Apply and follow-up so they know you're interested, the worse they can say is they're looking at other applicants. Go to job fairs, career events, and keep looking. Don't just apply and wait to hear from them....in many cases they may not call. Best of luck.

Good luck! I lived in MD my entire life and just graduated nursing school July 2010. I moved to Texas (military), and thank goodness I did!

There are really no jobs in MD. I graduated in a class of 22 students and only 4 or 5 managed to find jobs. Everyone I know has applied to everything under the sun to every hospital.

Your best bet is to literally show up to a human resources department to see if they'll offer you an interview...it's pretty brutal in MD.

I did hear of a nurse residency program at Washington Hospital Center starting in October but I also know a ton of people already applied.

Maybe you should move to San Angelo, Texas? Haha. I was hired within a week! It was amazing...thank goodness we got transferred : )

Good luck! Sorry if I was a debbie downer but I'd really consider moving if it's an option.
