Hi everyone- I am a recent graduate nurse from the University of CT moving to Denver in January with my boyfriend. I am looking on advice on where to try applying that is best for new grads- I have been job searching for months but have not had much luck. I have applied to UC Health Residency and I am still waiting to hear back about an interview, but so far that seems to be my only option. I am especially interested in women's health, L&D, postpartum, and the NICU- and I am open to hospital or outpatient/clinic positions, but am open to other options as well! Can anyone else comment on how they got started out there, or any other info they think would help (we are looking around for an apartment complex, etc. as well!)
Any info is appreciated :)
As a new grad who moved here in 2014, I moved for a boy too. It took me almost a year post graduation (I took some time off between graduation and taking the NCLEX). It took me LOTS of applications, and one random person to have a connection at a hospital to get a job. When I started looking, it took me about 5 months to start.
You can get a new grad job in home health pretty easy, but hospital is pretty hard. I'd not move until you have a year under your belt.
I am starting the UConn CEIN program for 2017. I lived in Colorado Springs for 5 months and I absolutely loved Colorado! I volunteered at Memorial Hospital Colorado Springs while out there. I am wondering how y'all did with the job search in Colorado? Would love some advice from UConn grads! Plan on moving out there when I finish the program, hopefully Denver or Boulder. Colorado Springs is a bit conservative for me!

Hey Klone! I am graduating in May 2016 with my BSN and i want to move from NC to denver to be closer to my family. I have no experience in healthcare except for my clinicals, but i have been working as a waitress for 13 years. My cover letter will be phenomenal, although my resume looks a little standard. I wanted to know, in your opinion, what are my odds of getting into a womens health area straight out of school in either UCH, Denver health, or P/SL?
