Hi everyone!
I am graduating from Boston College in May 2015 with my BSN. I am looking for a nurse residency program, fellowship or job upon graduation (starting as early as June/July..I will be taking the NCLEX in late June).
At a panel I attended recently I was told that a connection is needed to get a job and blindly applying to jobs or programs online will not get me anywhere. This is of course scary!
I am seeking some advice from experienced nurses on how to put myself out there! Thank you

Consider every clinical you do as a job interview. If you happen across a team and unit you really enjoy make it your business to get to know the players and start sucking up to the NM if possible. Thats how I got my first job. :) Also I would start doing on-line applications NOW because in my area there are a certain number of new grads who are hired that way but if you wait until June when everyone and their Mother has graduated the chances of getting a job that way go down. Good luck.
Thank you so much! Very helpful :)
