New Grads in South Carolina

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I was wondering if there are any new RN graduates in the Columbia, SC area getting ready to start work? I graduated in May/2005. Just got a job at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia, SC. Was wondering if there are any other new graduates that might have gotten a job there and will be starting soon.

I am SO jealous!!!! if only my hubby could relocate to SC, I would be one happy camper. Charleston is one of my favorite cities but I must site my loyalty to LSU, GO TIGERS!!!!! You will adore the ED, if I ever get the chance, I would look into the coroner/death examiner role that RN's have in SC. Just a thought. Keep it posted.

Specializes in Cardiac, Acute/Subacute Rehab.

CONGRATS!!

Not a nurse yet, but I manage a dental lab across the bridge from Lexington Medical...I absolutely adore this city. Maybe 'cause I've been here all of my life????

I can't offer advice, 'cause I haven't finished yet. I'd love to know more...interview process, orientation length etc., etc. Hopefully, I'll be where you are in about 2 years

Good luck!! Oh, and Atlanta Bread Company across the street...they make a mean Panini!!!

Thanks for the info - LuvMyGamecocks!!!!

Good luck to your nursing. It will all be worth it in the long run.

Haunted - Where are you originally from? Saw where you were a tiger fan, wondering if you were from Louisiana.... Moved to SC 3 years ago. Love it here other than being so far from family and friends in La, and being away from my tigers.....I can't wait to start in ED. Did my preceptorship there in school and loved it. I haven't been to Charleston yet but heard it's a great city.

The interview was great, easy. Everyone was so down to earth. The interview was not bad at all, and everyone was so nice. Orientation is 12 weeks. They rotate you through different areas during the 12 weeks like ED, ICU, etc... But since I am going to ED I will do all my 12 weeks in ED to get more experience. Let me know when you finish, I will give you the nursing recruiter name and number. He was great.

My email is [email protected]

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
