I obtained my BSN in AZ. It has been difficult to find a job because most requires 1 year experience. I have been looking for a job for almost 2 years. I started taking some nursing graduate courses and enrolled in a Family nurse practitioner program.
Recently, I applied to several new grad positions that has opened in the area. I interviewed for a psych RN position in a small Psychiatric Hospital and was offered the job. I accepted the position and now I have been called to interview for new grads academy in a prestige hospital (progressive care unit). I am very happy to have a job but I feel bad because if I am offer this other position I rather work for this other hospital. If I start working for a company and then I am offer a job that interest me more is it OK to switch without giving a bad impression?
I need advise. Thank you.

It's not the nicest thing to do, but if your dream is to work in that specific unit/ hospital, then go for it. Leave with dignity and politeness, and be gentle about doing so. There's such a glut of new grads that they won't have a hard time filling in that slot again.

As of now, you do NOT have the second job. You have an interview that may or may not pan out into a job. So do not even think of quitting your current job unless you hold in your hand an OFFICIAL job offer from the HR of the other hospital.
The reality is, yes, you may be burning a bridge with the first hospital. But life is short and if you have your dream opportunity you should go for it. Find out how much notice you have to give the first job (if it's not indicated, the standard is two weeks). Give that amount of notice. It's up to you if you want to explain why you're leaving.
Best of luck with the interview.

Have you actually started at the new job that you accepted?
I would not say anything until you find out if you have been offered the other position. If you are offered to position you really want, just be honest to the first hospital and explain that you are thankful for the opportunity but it is not what you were looking for. Usually its not as bad leaving while you are still in orientation versus them putting you through the whole 4-6 months of orientation and then you leave.
