during my time in school i participated in many seminars to perfect resume writing and interviewing skills; which i am sure you did to! i was also a tutor for nursing students which i helped assist many students write their resumes and cover letters.

i thought this would be a great way to share ideas of what we learned and help each other make our resumes and cover letters stand out!

if you would like to participate pm me and i will give you my email address to swap resumes. please take off all identifying info (name, address, phone number) from your resume. i don't want o be responsible for it!

I am wondering if anyone has added elective nursing courses to their resume, like I took courses in oncology, women's health, critical care, and Reiki. I'm not sure if I should add these to my resume or where to put them. Also, I had a community rotation at a cancer center, and am interested in oncology so I'm wondering if it would be good to put that somewhere.. and again, if yes where??

I might leave off the Reiki. As an acupuncturist, I have received feedback to remove this from my resume. It depends on the corporate culture of the hospital.

Good luck!

I can use help on my resume also. I am currently working in a hospital as a CNA. I just passed my NCLEX, but I graduated from school 6 years ago. I took the NCLEX many times and failed during these past years. How does one not attract attention to the missing years?

hi everybody! i'm planning to create a resume too i don't have any experience except volunteer, seminars and training..do you have any idea how to make an effective resume?thanks:)

This would be my first post ever :)

I am able to work as a grad nurse April 23rd, and applying on jobs now. We're in the middle of a huge shortage, yet most of the positions are internal and hard to obtain. I just finished writing, and I'm hoping my resume is up to par and competetive enough to get a job in a specialty like emerg or ICU.

anyone willing to swap or review for feedback?!?!

Are people still willing to look at resumes? I would love feedback. I have no idea how to PM so I would prefer to use e-mail. Let me know :)

I have also been looking for someone within in the nursing field to review my resume. I am a new grad nurse with no previous nursing experience besides clinicals and need some help with my resume as I'm currently applying to new grad positions. If anyone is available to critic my resume I would greatly appreciate your response.

Hello, I will be a new grad at the end of this coming up summer. I am horrible at writing cover letters/ resume. I would love to participate in this thread to. please PM? (not exactly sure how this works)

Hi I was wondering if you can PLEASE look as my resume as well and provide any helpful tips to improve my resume. Thank you.

If anyone is a recruiter or if you have received a job with your current new grad resume could you please look over mine. Just PM me I would really appreciate it.

I've started calling myself a recent grad since I graduated May 2009 and still am unemployed. I'm beginning to wonder if it pays to have a professional write your resume. Resume writers advertise on Allnurses. Has anyone ever used a professional resume writer and what was your experience?

Thanks.
